Qigong

What is Qigong?

Qigong is an ancient Chinese mind-body-spirit practice and one of the four main branches of Chinese Medicine, based on the understanding that we have life energy (qi) flowing through our bodies feeding our organs and cells.

Qigong is a moving meditation combining gentle movement with breath and awareness to cultivate this flow of energy through the body.

It has its roots in Toaist philosophy with the cultivation of qi being a path to harmony with the natural world, reminding us that we are inseparable from our environment.

Thousands of studies have shown Qigong to improve one’s mental and physical health helping with many issues from high blood pressure to chronic illness and mental stress.

“Qigong is the art and science of refining and cultivating internal energy”

Qigong from Chinese Medicine

To support injuries, wellness and the complexities of life...

Individuals, couples or small groups.

Qigong has taken me on the most beautiful journey…

It is a practice that continues to help me grow older with more grace and softness…

From learning karate in my 20’s for self defence, to “playing” Tai Chi and attempting (and failing!) to learn ‘the form’ many times…I fell in love with Qigong when I started going on silent meditation retreats.

Qigong has taken me to the essence of all my other practices…and along a path of continued learning…

I have been fortunate to practice with, and learn from, some incredible teachers including Sifu Wing Cheung, Nicola Ley, Annie Cryar, Catherine Burnett, Daisy Lee, Mimi Kuo-Deemer, Burgs, Dr Richard Brown & Angus Clark…

Years of practice led to an extensive Qigong Teacher Training with the Shiatsu College under the lineage of Sifu Wing Cheung. I have trained in Women’s Qigong with Daisy Lee, along with other forms, Tibetan Acupressure and complementary practices.  I continue to practice with many of my teachers.
